Steamed Carrotcake making day

Oh, we are talking about the chinese carrot cake here.
We have a hearty lunch first before we bean with the carrotcake.

Tiang bought the delicious otah. The non-spicy ones seems to be very popular this round and were all eaten up first.

Fang's sis famous marinated chicken wings ! Really nice ! We snapped up the 2kg chicken wings and BC did not get to pack any home in the end. Nevermind, we are going to have this dish on Christmas !! Looking forward !

Fang made these lovely egg mayo sandwiches too.

BC cooked some greenbean cum sweet potato soup .. yummy !

My MIL's so-delicious popian ! Very good review from friends and relatives ! Our favourite at all times !

Everyone has some fun making the popian.

Now the "hardwork" began ... the making of steamed carrot cake ! Fang has to cut the chinese sausages into very small cubes. Not the more relaxing task here as the chines sausage can be rather tough.

Next, we have BC shredding the turnip and carrot.

Tiang has an easier task of cutting the luncheon meat. The poor lady has just recovered from flu.

They worked hard while I just gave instructions .. hee ... so I got the easiest task of all !

The finished product ! You can either eat it the way it was or just pan fried it to get that extra fragrant aroma !

Photobook making and Makan ...

This gathering started off between BC and me over the making of her photobook which she has purchased. However, I was glad that the rest were willing to join in our fun even though they were not doing the photobook. Somehow or rather, this photobook session has evolved into a real makan feast day and night for all of us ! We have managed to convince LL to join us and it was nice of her to re-schedule her cycling passion to another date ! Of course, not forgetting to thank everyone for their time and effort taken to travel all the way to our rural kampong from another kampong !

Nearby Ko-pi Tiam Thai-Shi bee hoon and Yang Zhou Fried Rice bought by CK. Dun know whether you all like the Tha-shi bee hoon because we used to packet back to makan for dinner.

Our "Princess dog" and the Princess Min and mummy BC. I liked the way Min held Jojo's leg ..cute ! As if to prevent him from falling off from the chair !

Anyhow, it was a public holiday well-spent ! Really grateful that BC talked to me about her photobook and in return, our public holiday was not dull ! Hopefully the two boys enjoyed themselves with the Spyro Wii game and billards too!

Steamboat (old post not updated in time)

A sumptuous dinner at Jo and Shawn's house.

We brought over 2 cans of Cai Shen Ye sea asparagus to add on to the steamboat feast. This rockyroad brownie was baked by myself but I won't recommend this recipe at all. Totally disappointed with this brownie, it was too sweet (using brownie mix) and too stiff ....

Very nice steamboat prepared by Jo ! Seriously nice ... enjoyed this steamboat tremendously !

The BBQ food tasted very good especially for this particular brand. It can even cook wings to perfection !

Tea Cosy

Mummy Cheng has been very busy since she came back from States. It was really a chance to be able to catch up and sip a cup of good tea.

Cheng was sharp enough to spot this set of afternoon tea for 2 ! Just for us ! Surprisingly, the cakes, scones and dainty snacks tasted great ! They looked great on the flowery porcelain set-up too.

A beautiful place to meet up for ladies and couple.

National day spent in the eastern part of our island

A hot but beautiful day spent on our Nation's 46th Birthday in Ponggol!

Jojo was extremely happy with this outing and did us !

Gavin and Ryan joined us soon afterwards. I heard that they have been "chased" out by the "sisters" who were probably plotting some wedding sabotages on their wedding day ! Oh, they were the only ones with red shirts on ! How patriotic !

It was a pretty sunny day ... Jojo was panting away and carving for water after some short walks ! Luckily, we were very well-prepared to meet his needs.
