Sushi Making at Sakae Sushi

First attempt in trying my hands in Sushi making ! Thanks to my friends who included me in this wonderful experience.

Before going for the sushi making class, SY, JY and myself went for a great singing session ! Love SY's voice which seems to be sung from a CD !

Sung from 11am to 2pm before we headed to Orchard Central... pretty satisfying !

The lesson lasted for just an hour. All ingredients were prepared for us and placed in a box. We were given an apron and were asked to wash our hands in the kitchen. We were handed a pair of gloves before we enter the room to learn how to make 3 types of sushi.

Some lovely moments doing sushi together ! This class is more of wrapping sushi, we did not start from scratch like preparation of ingredients which was a pity. However, it was still fun to try sushi making.

Bake with l.o.v.e with Gwen and Jenny

We started off with Gwen's banana cake first. It is an easy recipe and we got it into the oven baking in no time.

Next in line was the pineapple tarts for both ladies. While we were preparing the chocolate banana, Jenny was already rolling the pineapple paste into balls. Even from the preparation of ingredients, we can even tell who is the perfectionist ... baking can really foster relationships. It is a healthy pass-time to gather with friends, to chat and to enjoy the simple pleasures of the fruits of our labour.

We have 2 deliveries to our home today. Luckily,with the help of the 2 ladies, we managed to change the new sofa coverings very quickly before the carpet arrived. (Jojo was wondering what we were all up to ?)

Before the carpet arrived, we "ordered" Gwen to do housework first ...and Jenny "posed" as the "贵妇" with Jojo on her lap while Gwen swept the floor ! Hahaha, the 2 ladies loved to act act ...

After about 20 minutes of hardwork, let's enjoy the carpet and sofa !

It was fun having the ladies over. Hope that Jo can come over another time when she is better. Time passed very fast with all the gossiping while our hands were working !

Chocolates truffles

Made these chocolate truffles for CK's colleagues.
CK was my tester and he found it very rich and soft ...
However, I got very good review from his colleagues ! Very surprise .. I guess these tiny sweet bites are good for increasing energy level in the office.


I've run out my last bit of cocoa powder ! So have to use other ingredients as coating. (almond nuts, coconut glaze, colourful sugar balls and icing sugar)

Colin and Lifin's house

Colin and Lifin invited us to their house at West Coast Terrace. Their house is huge for a small family of 4 ! Very ideal place for get-together and entertainment for large group. With the consent of the owners, we have brought Jojo along. (Paige, sorry we have to leave you home this time) He has a good time running around the house and being carried around by the some of the guests.

An island in the kitchen to die for !


Loving the concept of their huge dining and open concept kitchen. They have constructed a kitchen behind the garden so that heavy frying or cooking can be done outside the house.


Their first floor washroom. I was rather shy to take more photos of their house though. It is a luxurious 3 storey house which most people would want to live in.


Jayden and Zining busy climbing up and down the steps that segregate the dining and living room the whole night. I have looked after Jayden while his parents ate their dinner. It was exhausting !



Time passed very fast. Without us knowing, it was almost 11 plus. It was a great time spent !
