First Home Cooked Food with Regina

This must be the first ever home-cooked food with Regina after so many years !
It was fun to cook with friends and definitely rewarding especially if the food turned out to be better than you expected.

It was pretty stressful at first because we did not know whether our only main meal will turn our to be a disaster ?

Somehow, with a good teamwork, suitable ingredients and with all our love and passion , we managed to cook a delicious macaroni dinner just for ourselves !

Cheng Cheng, Regina has told me that you guys will be extending your stay in US for another half a year! We were actually counting down this July ! Nevermind, we'll wait for u patiently. Can't wait to invite u guys over and we can all cook together !


Pan frying the garlics and onions with olive oil first till they gave off the aromatic smells. Add in the rest of the ingredients like bacons, sausages, asparagus and macaronis. Add a pinch of salt to finish the dish.


Our finished dishes ! Beautiful especially with the dash of chilli powder ! U can imagine how excited we were to taste them ! Regina was very hungry !


We fried the dumplings and wu xiang after we have finished the macaronis !

Ren Ri with 1B18 (Chu Qi)

Just realised Chu Qi was Ren Ri ! It means it was everyone's birthday on earth yesterday ! Happy Birthday everyone !

It has been a great day into night as usual yesterday. Frankly, I was deprived of quality sleep as usual but I was glad I have pulled though with my jolly friends and jokes yesterday !

Poor Ah Cheng was still sick from her cough but she has insisted to help out in the kitchen with all the frying, cutting, washing and other stuff! Hope she will recover from her flu very soon.

We have many dishes to cook and everyone chipped in to help. Gavin has also demonstrated the traditional way of cutting the century eggs with a string. Fang has shredded the skins from the skinny asparagus which was a delicate affair. Tiang prepared her many ingredients for her pepper spaggetti. The ingredients used for this dish were painstakingly shared between Cheng and Tiang. Many efforts have been placed into all dishes and we were glad that all can help in one way or another. I couldn't have said more ... the fresh steam fish by LL, the delicious soup by Shark, the nice chicken curry from ACE, the cold and fried dishes by Cheng, the fruits salad from Fang ... hope I did not missed out anyone ...

This time round, we have booked the open kitchen area for our gathering. It was a blissful day. There is always risk of rain when you held your gathering outside your protected shelter. However, it was a nice change to be outside with fresh air and wind. I did not know that we could actually use the 2 stoves for heating up food which was really great. We heated up Shark's soup and Andrew's chicken curry and later even the 2 fishes !

It was a wonderful day ! Thanks for sharing the CNY with us at HVR ! And thanks for helping the dishes too !


Min Min said "HUAT Ar" very loudly in this video ... so cute ! Thanks to Fang for buying this delicious Lou Hei from The Soup Restaurant. This Lou Hei is recommended due to value for money (Est $18.60) and quality of ingredients. The 2 little girls have enjoyed this dish a lot ! So does the rest of us !

New member for a week

Introducing a new member to the Tan family. She is a West Highland white Terrier called Paige. In short, she is called a Westie.

Paige belongs to Amy who is my colleague. They will be away for a week in Penang, therefore, we have volunteer to take care of Paige.





What does Paige while away her time in our home ? She followed us whenever we went to just like Jojo. And she loved to "watch" the scenery from the window panes. She loves her frequent walk walk downstairs with Jojo.



Hope she will have a good stay with us and Jojo.

Chu Er at Fang's house 2010

Second day of Lunar New Year was spent in Fang's house. I have decided to bake some muffins over. I thought we'll be the last few to arrive around 3:30pm but turned out that we were the first to arrive ! Hello, folks in Sengkang and Ponggol, what took u so long to arrive ? Hahaha ...

These cookies were bought from 范文芳 and 李铭顺 订的喜饼店. We have fun telling everyone when we passed the cookies around. Verdict: Cookies tasted great, they melted in your mouth not in your hands ! What ? Sounded like M&Ms ?
