Choosing of Wallpapers

Choosing of wallpapers must be the most tedious part of home renovations !
We reached Goodrich Wallpapers at Loyang about 11:30am and was so exhausted by the time we settled 4 pieces of wallpapers for all 3 bedrooms and dining room !

There are so many types of wallpapers to choose from, really not sure how to start searching. There are painted, vinyl, embossed, fabric etc. Besides the texture, there are different designs for different themes.

We won't be having wallpapers for all walls within the room because it would be too costly. Therefore, to save costs, we just need to choose designs that are more loud and bold just to highlight one wall. The wallpaper will be the feature wall for each room.

The wallpapers samples are all bond into a book form. Therefore, you have to create your own visual imagination how they will look like on a whole wall !

CK gave up just after 1 hour as we have not chosen even 1 piece ! He was toying with his handphone while I continued to search for suitable piece ! There was another guy who was sitting on the couch sleeping while his lady continued the search ! Hahaha, women are more patient when coming to choosing wallpapers ! CK said he would just need 10 minutes to choose them if not for me ! Hahaha .... that was why I rejected the "orbit cha cha" piece which he has chosen !

Anyhow, by the time we have chosen all pieces, we were so hungry !!! We finished the last piece of guava that was in the bottle.

So much for wallpapers !


Wallpapers chosen. I must say some were chosen ultimately because we were too exhausted to go on. Hope our choices doesnt turn out too badly.

Home renovation & Mover

Finally, we have confirmed to engage Inside Living Design to do up our new house. (minimum renovation) Thanks to Josephinhe for introducing Jessie to us, if not, we would have to search high and low for one in such a short notice. We have to move out of Senja Road by 22 June, therefore time is an essence to us now. We have to confirm very details and price quotation before they started work the moment we got the keys.

I have met up with Jessie twice. The last time was with CK yesterday. Somehow we have not decided on the wallpapers for the bedrooms as the choices were too limited. (1 side wallpaper on each room) So we have decided to go down to "Goodrich Global", a wallpaper supplier, at Changi South Lane this coming Saturday.

Jessie has suggested to do a false ceiling from the living to the bedroom room corridoor with small lightings and stuff. I like the idea as it separated the living from the dining room instantly.

I have been searching for a nice and yet unique clock that can fit into our modern theme. We saw some at "Molecule" (Great World City) .. man, they are way too expensive! We are not willing to part with hundreds of dollars for 1 clock ! So, keep on searching !


Thanks to Regina for introducing a Home Mover to us. He has came by today to access how much stuff to move over to the new house before he can quote us. He will provide more cartons and scotchtapes for us later. So far, we have already packed 34 boxes and more to pack ! Of course, for those attractive items like cameras, jewelleries, laptops, DSlite, we would temporarily stored them at CK's mother's house first.

Muffins ! Electrical Appliances & Lightings on SALES !

Bought this very handy-sized book called "everyday muffins & bakes" from Popular Bookshop recently and it only cost $5.20! It has a collections of over 100 attractive recipes for muffins, cupcakes etc.

I can't wait to start making muffins and cupcakes in our new house ! I kinda missed baking !

Recently, we have been to Audio House at Liang Court during a sales. I did not know that Audio House has such comprehensive range of electrical appliances ! Unlike GainCity at Chua Chu Kang, Audio House has many brands of each electrical appliance. It means that you have more choices to pick from. However, we have a very good buy in Gaincity and it was a Europace Rice Cooker which was priced at $139.00 but we only bought it for $49.00 !




I have been eyeing on this "Microwave oven" (Panasonic NN-GS597MYPQ) for sometime. It has dual functions for microwaving as well as conventional baking. As we have limited space in the new kitchen, therefore this microwave oven meets our needs of heating up food and baking.

I was almost giving up hope to buy the lightings that I wanted for the 3 bedrooms when I saw an advertisement in Strait Times that this shop is having sales ! Each lighting is only $88.00 ! What a steal ! I have seen these lightings elsewhere selling $200 plus ! Without hestitations, we bought 3 different designs for each room ! We also bought a track lighting for the living room at only $70.00 !!! (Another shop at Balestia wanted to see us at $200.00 plus)

Oh yes, I saw a familiar lightings which we bought from Nova Lightings in this shop. After discount, the one we bought at Nova Lightings are still cheaper by $150.00. I must say that I was very happy about the lightings so far as we got them cheaper in different shops by chance.

Happy Mother's Day 2009

First of all, here's wishing ALL Mothers and Mothers-to-be a Happy Mother's Day !

My mother has suggested that she would prepare steamboat. This is a good idea as restaurants would be too crowded. It would be quite leisure to just eat at home.

We bought a small tiny durian cake from 717 for dessert later. I might hunt for the OTO PowerTap for my mum later. She has been lamneting that she has backaches often.

Andrew's Birthday Celebration

We celebrated Andrew's birthday at Ah Hoi's Kitchen in Trader's hotel yesterday.
This place brought back some fond memories especially for CK and myself as we hosted our ROM lunch there 10 years ago! How time flies !

Andrew has chosen this place as there's a promotion going on based on the birthday's boy age. If you are 38 years old, 2 diners would be entitled to 38% discount. The rest of the guests would be entitled to 25% discount.

It seems like Ah Hoi's kitchen was very much shortage of serving staff ! However that did not deter us from enjoying ourselves.


Andrew, Happy Birthday to you and may you enjoy this birthday with the 2 most important women in your life, Esther and Colette!

Dear Jun Long and Ryan Gou Gou

U have asked my mummy so many questions about me yesterday during Uncle Andrew's birthday, here's some of my profile which you might be interested to know:

All about Jojo Tan:


I was born on 31 August 2007. I'm considered as an adult dog now. However my daddy and mummy thought I still behave like a puppy !

My daddy and mummy bought me from "Pet Lovers Center" in Holland Village. To tell you the truth, my mummy wanted a reddish toy poddle initally. Luckily for me, fate brought them to me ultimately.

Some people thought that I am "mute" because I am such a quiet little puppy when I was young. To my daddy and mummy, they couldn't be happier because they do not want a barking dog in case they kena complaints from neighbours. Now, I do bark sometimes especially if I sense someone walk pass our home ! I just can't help it ... it's my duty to protect this home !

Currently, my weight is about 7.2 kg. This is a pretty good range for dog of my size.

This is a down-right strange question by Ryan Gou Gou.
"Which chinese zodiac 生肖" am I ? Well, I think I am born in the year of a "Pig" ! If I am born in 2006, yes, I will fit in beautifully as a dog .... hahaha

I can't really tell how long I'll live ? (another strange question from Ryan Gou Gou) Accordingly to some pet books my muumy read, it seems like small dogs like us can live to an average to about 12-15 years ? Aiyo, I live one day by one day lah, as long as I got food, water, walks, playtime, love, I'll be the most contented dog in the whole world.

Hmm .. what else can I say about myself ? I'm white, not grey. Some people thought I am a "Salt and Papper" Miniature Schnauzer, but I am recorded as white in the certificate.


I am an offical "Gong gong" as I was neutered before adulthood. Most vets would recommended to have their male dogs neutered as it can reduce cancer and it seems that we would be more "stable" in terms of behaviour lor. The operation wasn't that bad as I was up and running after the second day of operation. In order not to let me lick my wounds, a protective collar was put around my neck .. woof !

My favourite food: Almost anything edible. I have developed this love for durians too ! I am extremely excited when I heard familiar words like "food" and "treats" !
Commands: Words I dislike include "Bong Bong" (bathing) and "cane cane". I'll run and hide !
Worst nightmares: Ticks and ants ! They are bloody vicious ! WOOF !

Family portraits

These photos were taken in "Li Ming" at Clementi. This studio has been established many years. I could still remember that I took my IC photo there 15 years ago.

Since we have not taken any studio family potraits before, therefore during the photos selection sometime back, we decided to select more photos.

It was indeed quite exhausting to take studio photos. A lot of posing and you must stand or sit real straight. You must also fix your smile on. By the time we have finished, we entirely forgotten that my mum wss supposed to take some individual potraits. We just packed and left the studio ... Nevermind, maybe next time, we'll try to arrange for her to take some single shoots. Jojo was shivering when it was time for him to take photos. We took him out of his carrier bag and have to calm him down first. After a short while later, he has stopped shivering and we could proceed to do our stuff.


Pretty much like this shoot. Note CK's hand on dad and my shoulder ? It took sometime for CK to put his hands the way the photographer wanted on our shoulders !


Cannot remembered any special moments about this shoot though ... dad looked so solemn ... hee


I told the photographer that we liked this cheerful backdrop. At first, I thought that we can just stood and take the photo. Instead, he asked us to take off our shoes and sat down the backdrop ! He took several shoots and our stiff backs were killing us ! Lol, Ah Fang commented that CK's pose is very sixties !


This is my favourite family potrait. Like the pose, it seems to suggest "we are family"!


Not too bad pose, seems like my dad is "supporting" us in a family sense!

Opps, Jojo doesn't look very ready but the 2 humans were all ready !

It's "V" day & nites for me !

The title sounds "sensational" & "romantic" ? Far from that, the "V" stands for vomitting ! Opps, don't get the wrong idea though ...

Last Sunday, I was all geared to go Causeway Point for shopping. However, I was feeling kinda unwell and decided not to go ahead.

True enough, I was vomitting the next moment. Not only that, the moment I laid on the bed to rest, I felt like throwing up. I developed a nasty migraine as well. It was terrible and I decided to do self-medication. I managed to find "synflex" in the fridge and took one. I felt better after a while.

On Monday, I was able to go to work. Unfortunately, after lunch, I felt like throwing up again ! I rested in my cubicle till 3 pm and thought that I really need to get out of office to see a doctor. I took a cab to my regular clinic. I told the doctor what happened and after a brief examination, it seems like I have stomache flu. I took my temperature before leaving office and it was 37.5 degrees celsius but by the time I reached the office, it was back to normal range. I told the doctor that I have eaten "synflex" on Sunday and she said that I should not take that as it might aggravate the situation. She asked me what have I taken for lunch and I told her I took rice. She said rice will cause miscomfort too. Geez, means I got to take porridge from now on?

After visiting the clinic, I went back home and Jojo was pleased to see me. I took a short nap and ate the porridge as dinner CK bought home for me. All was well till sleeping time ! I threw up what was left undigested !!! Got that aching pain in my head again! Similiary I cannot lie on my bed without feeling nauseous! I was basically "half-asleep" near my toilet bowl yesterday nite ! I was just hoping that my tiredness would ultimately pulled me back to bed! I was very glad that the doctor gave me 2 days MC ! I only managed to sleep like 3am yesterday ! I dreaded when I thought of bedtime tonight !
