Home Christmas decorations

Home during Christmas does not look as cosy as in Senja. But still hope to dress up the home to feel the festive mood ! We have this Christmas tree for the 9th year now ! Initially, we wanted to change the red/gold theme to a more modern colour, purple. Unfortunately, to change all ornaments were simply too expensive ! So got to stick back to red and gold.

We were given 2 joint tables with 2 steamboats. Each steamboat has 2 portions to hold two different soups based.

HortPark with Jojo

It was CK and mum's first time to visit Hortpark. Initially, we wanted to go Bukit Timah Hill but cannot find any parking lot at all.

We only managed to walk 1.5 km. Must come earlier next time when it was not too hot.

Tiramisu

Have tried this less than 7 steps Tiramisu (from U channel Variety show. I missed this show so have to follow the chinese recipe.


Cannot locate this Mascarpone cheese, have been looking at those packeted type. Finally CK spotted it ...









Wrong demonstration of lining up the finger sponges. The first layer of fingers should be covered with ingredients A first, then repeat the same step for top layer.









Not a nice presentation of Tiramisu. I would be sourcing for a nice baking container soon.









Have forgotten to take a nicer cut piece of tiramisu. This picture was taken hastily while distributing to my colleagues.









RECIPE (translated from Chinese to English)

* No baking is needed.

Ingredients:
A. 500g Mascarpone
A. 6 egg yorks
A. 180g Sugar

B. Sweet Wine (Optional if u do not have)

C. 200g Sponge fingers
C. Coffee (non-sugar type, can be hot coffee)

D. Cocoa powder

Method:
1. Mixed "A" & "B" together. Mix "A" & "B" till all smooth. Set "A" aside when finished mixing.
2. Get ready a suitable container. Dip sponge fingers briefly into the coffee. Do not soak. Line up the container with first layer of sponge fingers. Put in "A" enough to cover first layer of finger sponges. Cover the first layer with cocoa powder.
3. Repeat the same step for 2nd layer.
4. Put inside fridge to chill for 2 hours. (not freezer)

Outing with cousin and Mei Mei

At the Swensons, IMM with cousin Bee and Mei Mei.
Have enjoyed the companion of extremely chatty and lively Mei Mei :)and my shy-shy cousin.
After some shopping, we headed back to my house to be entertained by Jojo.

Losses

Received news 2 weeks ago that Albert's father has passed away. Went for the wake held at Singapore Casket. Stayed with Jan and family for about 6 hours, just hoping to be of some help there or just stay with Jan to accompany her.

Jan has shared a touching part of his father-n-law's findings which made me a bit emotional. Shall not documented down in respect of the family.




Received another shocking news of my colleague, Clara's only child who died in a car crush in US last week. I could not believe it when someone told me. I kept verifying the name and just wondered how this could have happened. It must be devastating for the couple !

CK, Huey Shan and myself went to the wake yesterday and the moment we reached there, Clara came over and gave the ladies a hug. I have never seen Clara in such a vulnerable state.

We went over to the alter to pay respect. It was at this moment where I could not contain my tears. It was so sad to hear Clara "informing" to his son that 2 jie jie and 1 gou gou (yes, he was only 21 this year) were here to see him ....Clara told me that their only consolation was that RSAF has granted their son the Certificate of a full-pledged Pilot. In a way, his son's dream of being a Pilot was fulfilled. Sigh...

I was glad that Clara has already sorted out her thoughts that she wanted to come back to work soon. She did not want to just stay at home alone and think too much. Couldn't agreed more with her, she needed people to be around her.

No words could ever comfort the couple's loss of a good, promising and only son. May God bless them the strength and faith to go on with life.
