Sushi Making at Sakae Sushi

First attempt in trying my hands in Sushi making ! Thanks to my friends who included me in this wonderful experience.

Before going for the sushi making class, SY, JY and myself went for a great singing session ! Love SY's voice which seems to be sung from a CD !

Sung from 11am to 2pm before we headed to Orchard Central... pretty satisfying !

The lesson lasted for just an hour. All ingredients were prepared for us and placed in a box. We were given an apron and were asked to wash our hands in the kitchen. We were handed a pair of gloves before we enter the room to learn how to make 3 types of sushi.

Some lovely moments doing sushi together ! This class is more of wrapping sushi, we did not start from scratch like preparation of ingredients which was a pity. However, it was still fun to try sushi making.

The birth of a pretty "hen" - Part 2

After White Rabbit, we have decided to go PS Cafe which is just around the corner for drinks and another round of deserts.

The rather demure "henparty" started with having the "hen", Fang to put on the white band around her head in the crowded cafe. She looked very reluctant indeed, poor gal.

The first game was to pose with a "seductive" pose ... hmmm.. this looked more like a forceful demand ! Lol ..

In between the games, our lovely desserts arrived ! All 3 choices were awesome ! These were my best cafe desserts that I have ever eaten ! The portions were huge too ! They were just nice to share amongst the six of us !

BC's Seafood Linguini Marinara ! She said BEST-EVER she has eaten but she simply refused to compliment the Chef ...lol !

From the beautiful presentation of the food to the taste of the food, they were pretty delicious !

After our main meals, we ordered two desserts !

Orange crepes which took a long time with many hiccups before it reached us. Anyhow, we got another plate free as an apology from the restaurant.

No partners or kiddos were allowed for our ladies' outing ... just the six of us. The two mummies deserved to enjoy some girly outings at times. Yes, we have agreed that we should do such female outings at least once or twice a year !

Pineapple & coconut cake AND Chicken with peaches

This was a day where I feel like baking was the only thing on my agenda!
I was browsing through the newly purchased bakery book and thought that I would like to bake something different this time. First thing, no chocolate ! Secondly, how about cake with fruits in them ? So I ended up with a Pineapple & coconut cake. Well, at least CK likes the taste of it.

OMG !!! The Chicken with Peaches did not get uploaded properly ! CK and myself co-cook this dish as a pot-luck dish for mooncake gathering at eldest brother's house ! As usual, my two nephews would ask me what I have cooked ? Wasn't I delighted when he said peaches is his favourite fruits ! Battle half won, at least if the chicken dish failed miserably, I have the canned peaches as my "back-up" !

**INGREDIENTS**
200G CHICKEN FILLETS
1 WHOLE CANNED PEACHES
1 BEATEN EGGS
1/2 CORNFLOUR

*MARINATE*
1/4 TEASPOON SALT
1/2 TEASPOON CORNFLOUR
1 TABLESPOON EGG WHITE

**SAUCE**
50ML SYRUP FROM CANNED PEACHES
1/2 TABLESPOON CORNFLOUR
2 TABLESPOON SUGAR
2 TABLESPOON KETCHUP
1.5 TABLESPOON WHITE VINEGAR

METHOD
1. Cut chicken fillet into chunks. Mix in marinade and leave it for 10 minutes or longer.
2. Drain peaches from the can. Reserve thesyrup to make sauce.
3. Coat chicken in beaten egg and then in cornflour. Deep-fry until light golden. Set aside.
4. Heat the oil again, deep-fry the chicken pieces again until golden brown. Remove and drain excess oil.
5. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil. Add sauce and cook until it thickens. Stir in chicken and peaches and mix well. Serve.

Will & Sam's Wedding DInner

Continuation of Will and Sam's beautiful wedding at Pan Pacific Hotel, Ocean Ballroom.

My colleagues in ex-department ... Oh, my pal looked so classy and pretty in her gown !

Here comes the good-looking couple ! Sam dances competitively and she has performed a dance with Will during the second half of the dinner ! It was very entertaining and they enjoyed cheers and claps during their performance ! I love her sexy but classy dance suit but I did not managed to take photo of their dance. Will wait for Jas to upload in FB. The speech that Sam made really made me cry ... when her speech ended, I realised that I wasn't the only one tearing ... there goes my eye-liner ...

The modern couple has chosen a black and red theme for their wedding ! I have seen this theme on a variety show before and I was glad to see it with my own eyes. Seriously, I wasn't very surprised at their choice as they are still young and it really suits their personalities very well !

Tea Cosy

Mummy Cheng has been very busy since she came back from States. It was really a chance to be able to catch up and sip a cup of good tea.

Cheng was sharp enough to spot this set of afternoon tea for 2 ! Just for us ! Surprisingly, the cakes, scones and dainty snacks tasted great ! They looked great on the flowery porcelain set-up too.
