Christmas at Jo and Shawn's house 2008

Party at Jo and Shawn's house. It was a fun nite filled with relatively good food, wonderful companion and heart-warming gift exchange.

Introducing Jojo's new found friend, Zai Zai ... such a cute little doggie with an angelic face ! He was a 3 year odd dog adopted by Mike and Siew Yen at SPCA.

Jojo sniffing at Zai Zai. They used their incredible sense of smell to check out things. Geez, the fur around Jojo's mouth was getting too long and so wet from drinking water !

Dogs are naturally a butt-sniffer. (see pic for evidence) Even though Zai Zai is smaller in size but he is very brave to establish his status as "leader". Sigh, my little doggie just ran away from Zai Zai ... even at the extent of whining for help.

Jojo enjoyed spreading all his fours on the floor ... looked real relax !

Christmas Party 2008

The food for this Christmas was great ! They are from ISS-CDCS food catering. As usual, we practised the traditional way of exchanging presents. We also played 2 games.

Tonite's dinner

A simple dish of "Tempura" even though you cannot tell from the photo.
Hmmm.. can anyone tell me how come my "Tempura" doesn't look like "Tempura" at all ?
The taste is ok but the look was quite a failure. Nonetheless, CK said it was quite nice. Luckily we did not cook any rice or noodles as we were quite filled up eating all the fried items. BTW, the tube "wasabi" tasted terrible ... very much preferred the restaurant's wasabi.

These are the raw ingredients we got from super market except the crab sticks & prawns which were provided by my mum. I just marinated the prawns with little soya sauce to add flavour. The rest of the ingredients were fried the way they are ... naturally flavoured. As most of the ingredients were vegetables, you have to use relatively higher temperature to fry. Using lower flame would result your vegetables becoming soggy.

The finished look .... pretty disappointing. Felt deceived by the beautifully fried tempura on the tempura flour's box. Hahahaha ...

On the plate were: Sweet potato, green pepper chilli, mushrooms, eggplant, prawns & crabsticks. Alas, missed the sweet potato in Hokkaido terribly, they were so so sweet ! Yummy !

Christmas decorations @ Orchard 08

This year's theme might be "Candies and Sweets" because there are colourful sights of wrapped candies and candy canes spotted hanging from trees and poles !

The feeling was great at Orchard despite the poor economy outlook. I have only explored area Takashimaya and Paragon area, therefore did not captured all the decorations. Anyhow, here are some photos:

Starhub and their umbrellas ... their umbrellas did not lined the street, but they have a big booth in front of Taka.

Singtel and their long row of red umbrellas along the main street of Orchard ... tough competition between green and red ! Where's yellow ?

Noticed that there are 3 uses for the umbrellas:
(1) Use as shield against the hot hot sun
(2) Use to hide the brochures/flyers & recycled freebies
(3) Use as cheap advertising tools (oopss)to get passers-by's attention

BTW, my mum liked the red and white recycled bag and approached the Singtel people. She asked if I liked the bag, she could approached them again ... oh Man ! I firmly declined her good intentions !

Hmmm... how come Singtel & Starhub got the same idea of this "umbrellas" thingy ?

Pet's Party

A BIG thanks to Dr Koh for inviting the dogs' lovers in office to his house for a get-together for our furry friends.

Jojo was so tired after the gathering that he was sleeping soundly now beside me while I am writing my blog. I was very glad that he was relatively well-behaved today except the couple of times when he jumped on the sofa.
