Pre-Christmas with 2 teens (24 Dec 2009)

I cannot exactly how this arrangement came about ? But anyhow, I was glad that their guardians allowed us to have them with us overnight during Christmas Eve.

Frankly, I did not have much mood to work on Christmas Eve, I strongly believed many shared my sentiments ? Couldn't helped looking at the wall clock and wished that I could leave the office !

CK picked me up from Beauty World and we headed to Ponggol for lunch first before picking up Jun Long and Ryan.



Initially we wanted to call Pizza but could not do so as there were over-whelming orders in our area and they could no longer take in our orders. We decided to head to Chun Tin Road for our pre-Christmas dinner. Recently, I have eaten at "Thai Central" restaurant and the food was pretty good. At first, I was quite worried whether the teens can eat spicy food ? Ryan said that they can practice now for our May 2010's Bangkok trip ! The enjoyed the stuffed chicken wings a lot ! We managed to finished up all the food with no traces left !


The boys fell in love with this dessert, glutinous rice with mango !



We headed home after dinner. The boys continued with their PSP, WII and we even brought Jojo for a walk ! The boys debated who should slept on the bed and who slept on the mattress. I was glad that I left the jar of water and some biscuits (plus titbits in the bedroom) in the dining room for the boys. They stayed up quite late till Christmas day morning !

I certainly hope the teens have fun in our home !

My unique Christmas Pressie from CK

Thanks to Jo that I got some decorating ideas for our own home too. These wall decals were bought from Square 2, eZ-Decor. We bought 3 sets but the "Cats playing around lamp" was out of stock, therefore can only be collected by this Wednesday. These wall decals are quite affordable and easy to paste on.

I always find that the wall above the TV console is too plain. With this horizontally inverted tree branch and bird cage, it looks more interesting now. This set costs $29.00.


We purposely pasted a few single leaves de-attached from the branches so that they appeared to be blown away by the wind. I find this especially graphic as this branch was just next to an open window.



This was a similar set we bought but it was pasted upright (no single leaves sweeping down). We shifted the bench next to the wall decal to get the feeling of sitting next to a tree & the bird cage ... a natural feel.

Very excited for CK to collect the "Cats playing with lamp" this Wednesday. It will be pasted along the corridor leading to the 3 bedrooms.

Dialogue in the Dark & Course attended (9 & 10 Dec 09)

Attended a course recently on "Successful Supervisor Management". It was a useful course for general knowledge and a good chance to know more colleagues from other departments. The trainer, Katherine came up with a few activities and we quite enjoyed some of them.

During a gathering previously, I was told about "Dialogue in the Dark" concept that was hosted by NP. As I walked past to the training block on the second day, I spotted the building. Apparantly, NP was the first institute to adopt this concept in Singapore. I heard that Chen Wei Lian (Superstar Winner) will be station there for half a year.

A pain probably will never be heal ....

Clara came down to chat a while with me this evening. She looked ashen to me. I could understand...she started to break into sobs the moment we chatted. I choked a bit while talking to her as I was caught up with emotions too.

She shared with me that Zhi Hao has left her for a month today. She was not sure why she thought of him so much that she cried the whole day ! She wonders when she can get out of this ... It was hard to comfort her as nothing could ever comfort her ... she re-watched a video clip of his son at U-tube today ...

I cannot remain silent ...

I reminded her that Zhi Hao was a lucky person to have loving and caring parents like them for 21 years ! Clara said that the monk also told them that their son was kinda fated to be as their son for just 21 years. She was sad for her son that he did not enjoy more years of his life on earth.

Sometimes when alone, I always wonder ... the world still moves on no matter what happen to any one of us. It was so sad ...if we could show some kindness, some encouragement, less spitefulness, more forgiveness, this world would be a much happier place to live in !

Old boys' BD

Just a simple & cosy celebrations for our two old boys, namely Dad and Ah Gu. May they enjoy good health and be happy, always :) Bought shirts for the Birthday boys too, proudly presented to them by Nicolas !

Yes, Jojo go to enjoy the companion when we were more settled down with the BBQ stuff thanks to Ah Gu's neighbour who expertly cooked most of the food. He was being chased by a group of little "paparazi" ! However, he seems to enjoy it !

We hope that Dad and Ah Gu felt loved by the attention thrown to them on their special day ! They have came a long way in their life and we definitely wish that they can remember this wonderful Birthday celebrations forever !

The kid in red, we did not know who he was ... but he enjoyed the whole night with the rest of the kids ! He must be a resident of HVR !


Lovely BBQ all done and marinated by us! And some nice cooked food contributed by aunties. A special thanks to my mum who marinated the chicken wings to perfection and bought the otahs, fishballs etc from West Coast Market & coffeshop!


The evening is still "young" ... still strong sunlight. Soon, it turned to a windy evening with breeze. Thank God it did not rain !


We also have a young boy, Darren whose Birthday is on 25 Dec !

The more we get together (5 Dec 09, Sat)

Have been busy very recently and have been reminding myself to update my blog. This get-together has taken place last Saturday.

Nicholas and Keison have not met for ages. They can get along very well when they were about 3 years old or so. Now they are 6 years old and going to Primary one next year. Time flies ... the two boys have fun playing with toy trains, guns, cars when they were younger. Now they played with WII ....

Of course, we cannot forget the adults who came as well. It has been a long time as well to met up with Lee Kian, Ruth and Siew Hwa. The adults chatted while the kids played. I managed to cook 3 dishes in additional of the chicken we bought from 5 Stars.
