More pics of Jojo the dog

This morning as I packed the house, I came across 3 dog's clothing of Jojo. These clothing were bought before Chinese New Year this year. However some of the clothes were too big for him 3 months ago. Now 2 of them fitted him quite well. He is growing rapidly. I'm sure when he reached the age of one, they'll fit him nicely.

I like this basket ball theme t-shirt. It's sleeveless and the materials were made of cotton so it's not too hot for him to wear. Jojo only wear shirts during "special" occasions, most of the time, he's "naked" with just a collar :)

Lunch at Lemongrass

TGI Friday !!! A day for employees like us to look forward to a 2 day weekend ! For us, this Friday, we looked forward to a lunch (treated by Ivy) at Lemongrass at Bouna Vista Village. Here's some photoes taken at the restaurant. Last 2 pictures were taken in office.

A Day of Downs and UPS

Today was a busy day for us. We woke up about 7am as our part-time helper was coming. Two weeks ago, the part-time helper told us that she might be going overseas to accompany her daughters studying in UK. Therefore she would introduce her friend, Ah Yin to relief her duty till she came back. They were supposed to work from 8am to 12pm but at 11am, they told me they were leaving as her friend had something on. I was quite disappointed about their irresponsible attitude but I still gave her $40.00 for 4 hours even though she only worked for 3 hours. (For about 1 hour, I could hear them chatting away in one of the bedrooms)

I guessed that we were too soft-hearted with the part-time helper all these while. She is a mother of 3 and I know she worked tirelessly and relentlessly for her 3 children. Therefore we would leave her to do all the necessary housework without giving her any stress. However, I came to realize that she did not put in her 100% devotion and would sometimes "skipped" a number of chores which she doesn't like. We felt a bit disappointed as we thought we had treated her with respect. Most of the times, we would buy additional breakfast for her so that she can eat afterwards.

Anyway, it's never easy to deal with a human being. Most will just take advantage of the situation if they can. If they did not, I'll be surprised ... am I too pessimistic about people ?

So much about the domestic helper ....

I have arranged with Shirley last week to have some photo shoots taken at our house. Shirley is an enthusiast taking photos and I am the enthusiast taking photos for others. Therefore we complimented each other in this sense. Leia, her daughter has grown but she still retained her sweet face. I loved her hairstyle now as it suits her very well. She looks like a little lovely china doll. Really like some photos we took today with much encouragement for the 2 children to cooperate with the lens.

After Shirley and family has left our house, my colleagues came to our house for a visit. This is the first time that we were having them as our guests and I'm excited about it. I was afraid that the food ordered from Pizza Hut might not be enough as it looks so miserable when it came. However with soup ,fruits and cupcakes (bought by Karen) they told me that they were quite full. I was quite relief then.

It was a great sharing and bonding session amongst us and I do appreciate some of them whom came from the east side. Jojo is one happy dog as there were "jie jie" and "Kor Kor" to play with him, however most of the time, he was "imprisoned" in the kitchen when we go to work.

Overall, today has passed by a blink of an eye lid. It's about 1:05am now ... better stop writing, my eyes lids' were drooping .. almost in dreamland ..

Free Movie tickets

My mother's company has issued their staff 2 free movie tickets screening "Forbidden Kingdom" at Jurong Point. As my mum is not very keen on the show, therefore she has offered both tickets to us.

The movie was scheduled to start at 7:00pm and we only managed to get into the cinema at about 6:50pm after collecting the popcorns and drinks! We have not had our dinner and it was a pleasant surprise that each voucher also included a free hotdog bun even though the voucher only stated Popcorns and drinks. So our dinner were settled munching hotdog buns while watching the thriller.

My mother's company must have booked the whole cinema as I saw everyone with the same makan as us and some of them seems to know each other. I managed to see my mum's long time colleague, Uncle Koh seating just in front of our seat.

The show is the latest production by Jacky Chan and Jet Li. Overall, the show is predictable and blend. Just a show seen and easily forgotten. I'm more impressed by the full package of the freebies .. haha.

Anniversary on Singapore Flyer

CK has been keeping me in suspense for about a week how we are going to celebrate our 9th year of marriage. I have pestered him endlessly but he was very tight-lipped about it.

Even today on the way to Singapore Flyer Center, I was still guessing. I was very confident that we were heading for either Esplanade or Library for musical or a local production performance.

We have never been on a ferris wheels before, so it was quite an exciting experience for us. I was surprised to discover that I was slightly afraid of heights. Initially I did not dare to walk around the cabin or near the glass. After a while, I managed to overcome a bit of the heights phobia and walked gingerly around the cabin. We took the ride at about 4:30pm and there wasn't a lot of people then. We shared the entire big cabin with 1 couple. The whole ride was about 30 minutes and by the time we came down, we were hungry.

There are quite a number of restuarants at Singapore Flyer center. We settled our dinner in a Chinese restaurant called Seafood Paradise. We enjoyed the buttery crab with cereals very much. Overall this romantic escapade is worth a 5 star !

The Four Fluffy Furry Friends (F4) of our house

We had the four fluffy furry friends in our house for almost 8 years. They are called Chinchillas, which were often mistaken as rabbits, hamsters or guinea pigs.

Our first furry friend is a beige chinchilla called Rooky. He is a male chin with quite a character. He would "hissed" if you stroke his body but he's perfectly fine if you stroke his head. We bought him at Pet Kingdom in 2000 and he is considered as an old Papa in the animal world. Among all the chinchillas that we have, he's the most disciplined in terms of a healthy and balance diet. Rooky will have both pallets and hay without fail. Consuming hay is important as it helps to grind the molar teeth.

After we have Rooky for a couple of months, we thought of getting him a mate. Therefore we brought him over to pet Kingdom to choose his "bride". For match-matching, the chinchillas have to be put together in a confinement cage and see if they can compliment each other. If the couple fights, they are incompatible. It is easy to see if they are compatible because they will show sign of affections and will "chase" each other around the cage. We were lucky, the first "bride" we have chosen was compatible with Rooky.

We bought the "bride", Albany home. The couple was lovely to each other and Albany was especially devoted to Rooky. She would groom him and Rooky would just strike a haughty pose. We have chided Rooky as being a male chauvinist. Albany is a gentle ebony colored chinchilla (black). She was a bit nervous when we first brought her home. After some time with Albany, she became my favorite chinchilla because of her gentle and sweet nature. Rooky and Albany soon have an offspring, called Alphi.

My favourite chino, Albany is a shy gal that doesn't like the "glamourous" photo shoot at all.

Alphi or we affectionately called her Baby was a pleasant surprise for us. During Albany's pregnancy, we just thought that she put on some weight even though we did remotely guess that she might be having a baby. I can still remembered that I was rooted to the ground when I saw a little tiny baby peeping out from Albany's back. Baby had a little bit of blood on her. She must be born not long ago when I discovered her.

To prevent more babies from the couple, we had no choice but to separate Rooky and Albany. Albany and her off-spring Baby stayed together in the same cage. The mother and daughter are very close to each other even till now. Baby is extremely active and she is a Dare-Devil. She is a brave gal but reckless which needed a firm hand on her. However her lively character does add a bit of spice as compared to the rest of better-behaved chincillas.

Minnie(white) and Dorly(standard grey)were bought from pet Kingdom after 2 years. Unfortunately Dorly was called to heaven after half a year later. Her death was still mystery to us... she was a great lost to us as she was such a beautiful chinchilla with great personality.

I was not too sure why but Minnie has never been very trustful or close towards us. However after Jan's mother had taken care of Minnie for us when we were away for holidays, we sensed a great change in her. Minnie has become more docile and affectionate towards us. It must be the magic touch of Jan's mother, which comprises of tender, loving and care. There seems to be a magical connection between Jan's mother and Minnie. Jan's mother gave us feedback mostly on Minnie but not so much for Rooky, Albany and Baby.

With the new addition of Jojo, our dog, it seems like we are neglecting the chinchillas a lot these days. Rearing a puppy does take up a lot of time and energy and they are more attention seeking than Chinchillas. We have constantly told ourselves that we have to take care of the chinchillas more now especially they were "older" than before. It also seems like ages since I have taken any photos of them. All the photos you have seen here were taken 3 hours ago, which I am glad I took them.
