Tampines Very Happening

We wanted to get some stuff from IKEA so CK suggested that we go to Tampines IKEA instead IKEA Alexandra. By the way, neither us have been to Tampines IKEA.

Before we go IKEA, we went to Tampines One, the latest shopping centre at Tampines Central for lunch.

CK wanted to try the Japanese food at the Japanese Foodhall situated on the 3rd floor. It operated very much like Marchie whereby the staff will give you a card and show you to a table with a table reservation card. Thereafter, you can freely go around the ten stalls to place your order.


First impression of this food chain by Ajisen ? Very "complicated" and "busy-looking"restaurant design on the outside.


We were being shown to Table 595. Not too sure whaat theme of this section means ? It wasn't very Japanese ...


Hokkyokusei Omu Rice, I had my lunch from this stall. It wasn't too bad for $8.90.


My food ... Omu Rice with prawn tempura.


Sesson Japanese Grill Stall. CK got his hokke fish and bbq squid from this stall.


Hokke fish ... we have eaten this dish in Hokkaido. This one is not as fresh and even has a slight fishy smell. What a disappointment !

Tampines is a vibrant place with many people, activities and shops. Since we have been staying in the west, we seldom have to go to the east for shopping. We would normally shop at Causeway Point and Jurong Point.

Tampines IKEA is like 3 times the size of IKEA Alexandra ! It was like a giantic warehouse. Overall, Tampines is a place where you can get great shopping.
